The clean that gets underneath

A deep clean is a one-time, top-to-bottom reset. It covers everything a regular visit does, then keeps going into the places a normal week never reaches: inside the oven, the baseboards and trim, the vent covers, the grout, the shower door track, behind and under the furniture that moves.

The phrase has no agreed definition in this industry. Every company draws the line somewhere slightly different, and almost nobody publishes where, which is why two quotes for a deep clean can mean two different jobs. Ours is written out below so you can compare it against anyone else's.

If you want the longer version, our owner Lauren wrote a full guide to what a deep clean actually includes, room by room, including an honest section on what it will not fix.

What's Included

What a deep clean covers

Everything in a standard clean, plus the work below. Most homes take a deep clean first, then settle into regular house cleaning to hold it.

The rooms that earn it

These two rooms take the most time in a deep clean, and they are where the difference shows first:

  • Inside the oven, and the range hood filter
  • Inside the fridge, with shelves and drawers washed
  • Cabinet fronts, and the tops of cabinets that do not run to the ceiling
  • Grout scrubbed rather than surface-cleaned, in the shower and on the floor
  • Shower door track and the seal along the bottom
  • Hard water and soap scum on glass, worked with time rather than force
  • Behind and around the base of the toilet, and the exhaust fan cover

02 The Rest Of The House

The parts you stop seeing

The detail work that makes a room read as clean without anyone being able to say why:

  • Baseboards, door frames, doors and switch plates
  • Ceiling fan blades and light fixtures
  • Window sills and window tracks
  • Vent covers and cold air returns
  • Behind and under the furniture that moves safely
  • Interior windows where they are reachable safely

Want laundry, organization, or vehicle interiors on the same visit? Those are a la carte add-ons you can pair with any clean.

Straight Answers

What a deep clean will not do

This matters as much as the list above, because expectations are where people end up disappointed. A deep clean is cleaning. It does not repair or restore.

Grout that is stained through comes up cleaner and stays a shade darker than it started, because the colour is in the material now. Hard water etching on glass is damage to the glass itself, so it does not wash off. Scratched floors stay scratched and a worn finish stays worn. Carpet gets vacuumed thoroughly, and actual extraction is a separate service with a separate machine.

Anybody who promises to make an old surface look new is selling you something. We would rather tell you at the walkthrough what will improve and what will stay as it is.

Cleaning for Kansas

Timing one in Southeast Kansas

Our seasons make the case for a deep clean twice a year. Spring brings pollen, and by then the house has been shut up all winter with the furnace pushing dust through the vents. By late summer the windows have been closed again for the air conditioning, and anyone with allergies is feeling it.

Older housing stock is the other thing. A lot of homes around Pittsburg and the Crawford County towns we serve have real age on them, which means painted woodwork, original trim, tile with grout that has been there a long while, and windows that collect dust in the tracks. Those homes reward a deep clean more than a new build does, and they need a gentler hand while it is happening.

We clean fragrance-free wherever we can, and a deep clean is where it matters most. You are in a closed bathroom breathing whatever was just sprayed. Lauren has written about our non-toxic approach and what is really in conventional cleaners.

FAQ

Deep Cleaning in Pittsburg, KS: common questions

How much does a deep clean cost in Pittsburg, KS?

It depends on the size of the home, how many bathrooms there are, how long it has been since the last deep clean, whether there are pets, and how much has to be moved to reach anything. We quote in person after a free walkthrough rather than off a form, because a deep clean is the job where a template is most likely to be wrong.

How long does a deep clean take?

Longer than a standard visit of the same house, sometimes by a good margin. The work is slower by nature: grout has to sit with something on it, an oven cannot be rushed, and furniture has to be moved and put back. We will give you a realistic time at the walkthrough.

What is the difference between a standard clean and a deep clean?

A standard clean is regular upkeep: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting and the surfaces you use most. A deep clean covers all of that and then gets into the oven, the grout, the baseboards, the vents, the window tracks and behind the furniture. Most homes start with a deep clean, then switch to standard visits to hold it.

Do I need a deep clean before starting regular service?

Usually, yes, and it saves money over time. A first deep clean resets the baseline so the recurring visits can hold it. Skipping it means paying for standard cleans that never quite catch up.

Will a deep clean fix stained grout or cloudy shower glass?

It will improve both and it will not make either new. Grout that is stained through comes up cleaner and stays a shade darker, because the colour is in the material. Hard water etching is damage to the glass itself, so it does not wash off. We will tell you which one you are looking at during the walkthrough.

What cleaning products do you use for a deep clean?

Fragrance-free as much as we possibly can, which matters more here than on any other job because you are breathing it in a closed room for a long stretch. Baking soda, a concentrated all-purpose cleaner and time on the surface handle most of it. If you want specific products used or avoided, tell us at the walkthrough.
